Casual Glam

I have been having a lot of fun trying out Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow shades that I bought during a sale on Zuneta a little while ago.  In fact, I may have just bought even more the other night with yet another sale!  These sales are dangerous, folks, dangerous.

Delicate Hummingbird was one of the first RBR shades I bought and I knew I had to have it.  It's a plummy purple taupe color.  I am drawn into the beauty and nuance of taupes, as many of you are, but do feel that they are not the most flattering colors on me.  Don't get me wrong - I think this looks lovely - I just feel other tones suit me better overall.  Nonetheless, I shall not stop acquiring and wearing taupes.  I'll just stay jealous of those that look utterly amazing in them!

RBR Alabaster Starling is a really beautiful pearly white-silver highlight color.  I am very glad to have it.  Here I am wearing it in the inner corner.  I think it looks particularly nice on me.  :)

If you haven't heard me rave about Hello Kitty blushes, most specifically the Head of the Class palettes, then you are about to hear it now.  I LOVE THOSE BLUSHES.  They are both shimmery, smooth, and very pigmented.  This one, from the pink palette, is the more vibrant and coraly pink of the two.  The blush in the black palette is a softer, yet still lively peach color.  I highly recommend them!  The eyeshadows in the palettes are pretty great, too, although I tend to completely ignore them due to my crazed love for the blush portion.  I don't often buy a multi-component palette for a mere portion of the offerings.  These, to me, were very much worth it.

This is my first time trying the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream and Boomer.  The Boomer is really nice and has a lovely pearlescent glow to it.  I have not tried the BB without the Boomer, so I can't say whether or not it affects or prolongs wear time for me.  The color of Perfect Cover 13 seems pretty great for me.  It has a smooth texture and offers a good medium sort of coverage.  It wore well enough through the day, although I did feel that I looked glowier than normal.  I did not feel dry or tight, which is always a plus.  Overall, I'm pleased!

I ended up wearing Nars Scarlet Empress lipstick with this look, which is so gorgeous.  I only wish I had pictures for you!  It wore very well and is a marvelous "jewel toned blue-red," according to Nars' site.  I'd call it more berry, wine, vampy perfection.  I'm really starting to fall hard for darker lip colors.

I've added some placement descriptors into my breakdown.  I hope this is helpful and not overwhelming.  I realize that while I know where I put what, you may not!

  1. So soft and pretty! I have penchant for plummy taupes too. I'm thinking of doing a taupe stash pic. For someone that isn't that into them, I have an absurd amount.

  3. Lou - thank you! I'd love to see your taupe stash! That's a fun idea. I hope to do some stash pics at some point. And I agree that I have way too many for the frequency of which I wear them (taupes, that is)!

kittytokaren - WELCOME! And thank you so much! I think Scarlet Empress was TDF perfection with this face, but since I don't have pics of that, I'll take the compliment with the Energy gloss. :) I will help. I'm on my way!

    1. Thank you very much! I'm sure they'll have another soon, right? They did several just nearly back-to-back (which was hard on my wallet)!

Please be kind. I'm happy to learn and grow, but it's also my face we're talking about! Also, no shamelessly promoting your blog or site here, please. Thank you!
