I feel that it's worth mentioning that I have a wee bit of fake tan on.  I am testing out the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster.  Last night I used three drops mixed in with my Ole Truth oil.  I was expecting that I'd look like a freaky version of myself this morning, after it developed, but it's really surprisingly subtle and nice.  It bumped me up maybe half a shade from what I normally am.

Also, of note, is that I assembled this made-up face under the influence of migraine medications (which make my thought processes significantly slower and sludgier than normal - still suffering the mental delays 19 hours after having taken the meds).  I think I'm more creative and bold when medicated, though, which is ironic.  Sludgy, dolty, and unapologetically colorful!  That's me.  Now, can I have my brain back, please?

So here's me with a matte eye!  You don't see that every day.  I was impressed with this Tarte Mattenificent palette, so I basically had to have it.  I really like the colors in it as well as the quality of pigmentation and ease in blending.  I've also been using powder liner a lot lately, so I dig the rich powder liners in the palette.

Thanks for stopping by!

Now for some random thoughts about new things used here!  The WnW Coverall foundation is pretty darn good, yeah.  Four dollar foundation?!  Are you kidding me?  It's better than decent.  I did get a little shiny through the day, but I can thank hot working conditions for that and just my skin's normal behavior this time of the year.  I've only worn it the one time so far, but my initial thought is YAY and go get you some.

The YSL Babydoll mascara is good, but not blowing me out of the water.  The brush provides excellent separation, definition, and a really pretty look.  Not much extra length or volume to be had, though, I fear.

Also, the next time I use Oz eyeshadow I really need to use a sticky base!  The glitter all fell down onto my face, making quite a mess.  None is visible on the eyes even.

I'm trying to work on my blush placement.  It's more in a contour position that what I normally do.  I think I like it!

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by!

Fyrinnae in the Morning

This one is hot and now!  I literally still have this makeup on my face, as I type.  Sorry I disappeared for a while.  Things just got really rough with my personal life...and they still are, honestly.  It's hard to care about makeup when life feels like it is spinning out of control.

Back to the makeup.  I took these pictures at about 7:10 this morning.  It was gloomy out, so the light sucked.  Also, you may have noticed my super drama eye shadow shape.  That was thanks to tape.  I had this idea that doing taped eyes would somehow be easier - would allow me to have my cake and eat it, too (that is, have dramatic, cool eyes with minimal effort).  I'm not so sure about that, now, after the fact!

It was fun for a change of pace, though.  I can say I totally love this really angular shape on my eyes, but it definitely stands out.  I also think my color placement with the three different shades was sloppy.

Red Panda (the shade in the center) looks kind of pinky-coral here but seemed more red to me in person.  My eyes look extra awesome with the pool reflecting in them!

I know what you are going to say.  You wish I had blended out the edges more.  Right?!  Well, I have to agree.  And Lord knows I did try.  Probably the Pixie Epoxy made it harder to blend and no doubt the super sharp line I got from using the tape also made it a challenge to soften the edges.

Face:
GA Maestro Fusion 3
Illamasqua Concealer 115
BareMinerals Stroke of Light Luminous 1
Fyrinnae Fluff (under eyes and in the t-zone)
Fyrinnae Sunkissed Finishing Powder

Cheeks:
Too Faced Bronzed & Poreless Bronzer
Illamasqua Ambition
Sephora Microsmooth Luminzer 01 Stardust (dupe for Nars Albatross)

Eyes:
Wet 'n Wild Fergie Eye primer (this is really great!)
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Sake & Sashimi (outer half lid and crease)
Fyrinnae Red Panda (center of lid and crease)
Fyrinnae Shenanigans (inner third of lid)
Lorac Posh e/s (brow bone and to blend edges)
Stila Smudge Stick Damsel
Jordana brown pen liner (tight line)
Hourglass Arch Soft Brunette
Givenchy Noir Couture waterproof

Lips:
Stila Color Balm Lipstick Isla

The bottom line here is that I would do a lot of things differently if I did this look over again.  Mostly with my eeeeyyyyeees, which I am clearly obsessing over!  The rest of the face I quite like.  :)

Also, if you've not yet seen Fyrinnae eyeshadows in person, you are missing out!  They are just so super sparkly duochromey amazingly pretty.  Go get you some.

Big Ballz

This is a face I'm really proud of!  Everything turned out very nice, I think.  :)

I also used a bunch of untrieds, so that was a bonus!   By the name of this post, you might have guessed that I tried my new Guerlain Meteorites.  They are the extra large ones called Perles du Paradis.  I was worried that the glittery silver balls would translate into tinsel on my face, but you can see here that they look really pretty!  I used a generous amount all over my face.  They gave a lovely, soft, pinky glow.

I also tried Fyrinnae Greenman's Forest, on my lid, in my crease, and on my lower lash line.  It's so beautiful and complex!  I adore it.

And!  And!  I contoured my cheeks using Make Up For Ever's Sculpting Kit #2 (just the dark shade).  I'm usually too lazy to do a proper contour.  I layered two blushes, as well, so I'm really rocking a gradient sort of cheek.  :)

You probably can't quite tell that I used purple in the crease, but that's okay.  It worked out nicely enough.  I used several colors from the Too Faced Romantic palette to compliment and support Greenman's Forest.

Face:
Kat Von D Rehab Priming Elixir
Urban Decay Naked Skin 0.5
Illamasqua Concealer 115 (spots)
BareMinerals Stroke of Light Luminous 1 (under eye)
Korres Wild Rose Mineral Setting Powder (under eye)

Guerlain Meteorites Perles du Paradis (used generously all over!)

Cheeks:
Make Up For Ever Sculpting Kit #2 (dark color for contour)
Laura Mercier Vintage Pink
Illamasqua Tremble (just below cheekbones - is that the "apple," by the way?!)
Wet 'N Wild Fergie Rose Champagne Glow (cheekbones)

Eyes:
Nars eye primer
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Greenman's Forest (all over lid/crease and smudged into Stray Dog on lowers)
UD Stray Dog pencil liner (lowers)
Too Faced Romantic Palette (First Dance in crease and a tiny bit on outer lowers, Soulmates on inner corner, Un-Veil to deepen crease and to set liner on waterline, Bouquet Toss on brow bone)
UD Perversion pencil liner (smudged into outer lash lines)
GA ETK black waterproof e/l pencil (waterline)
Stila Stay All Day black liner (tight line)
Tarte taupe brow pencil
Laura Mercier Faux Lash mascara
Givenchy Phenomeneyes Waterproof (lowers)

Lips:
L'Oreal Colour Caresse (YSL Glossy Stain dupe, sort of, but not exactly) Berry Persistent

I know what you are thinking and it's absolutely excessive and silly that I used three different black eyeliners!  You don't even want to know how many different kinds I have.  Also, you are probably dying to hear what I think of the YSL Glossy Stain dupe, right?  So far, I am not in love.  They feel very light on the lips, which is nice, but the wear is not the same.  Immediately after I took these pictures, I looked in the mirror, noticed some slight unevenness, then smooshed my lips together and it got way worse.  It was instantly patchy and awful looking, so, naturally, I blotted it down to a stain.  I'm glad I only got two of them, and on sale.  I think I'll be mainly sticking to my trusty Glossy Stains.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Let me know if you have questions about anything.
