Sephora + Pantone Astral Lip Glaze Gloss Set Swatches
I decided that I just had to have this Sephora + Pantone lip gloss set. The duochrome pulled me in!
It's $24 at Sephora and the set is Limited Edition, but of course.
Mauvewood is my favorite so far. I adore it! Yesterday I wore Arabesque, which is really nice, too. The repetitious swatches you are about to see are in the same order as the names shown above and are on the back of my hand, near my thumb.
Sorry that Brandied Melon got so stuck in my little hand hairs! :P
These smell very sweet, like frosting of some sort. The smells fades pretty quickly for me. They have no flavor. They have kind of a doe-foot type applicator (flat, though). The best part?! They wear like champion amazeballs rockstars. I'm not even kidding. They don't bleed, they are very lightweight, and they fade oh so evenly and perfectly hour by hour. You can still see it nicely on the lips five hours after application, albeit not as intense and without the glossy shine.
They absolutely have not dried my lips in the least. I would not call them hydrating, either. They don't bunch up funny or create weird wear lines on the inner parts or corners of the lips. They coat the lips easily, without needing endless dips for application. The duochrome is subtle but creates a really pretty, soft iridescent sheen. The feel on my lips is interesting. It's hard for me to explain or describe. I do sense a kind of lacquer layer, if you will, but it's very light and comfortable. I really can't compare it to anything else I can think of!
Are you kind of dying for some lip swatches or faces with these? Well, I know Scrangie has a few pictures up. I have a look with Mauvewood that I should be posting very soon, too. Bottom line: I DO LOVE SO VERY MUCH. I'm slightly put off by the look of Brandied Melon and it's so similar to Arabesque, as well. I wish it had been a deeper, vampy red! But alas, it's a really nice set and I'm sure I'll be reaching for these a lot now.

Not long after I took these rather lovely pictures my eyes began to water and became irritated. I couldn't say which of my multiple of purples caused the problem, but they continued to water and be angry for many, long hours. I regret that I did not just take it all off, despite being busy at work. I digress. Most makeup lovers probably know that purple pigments can be dicey as they often contain red pigments, which are notoriously irritating to the eyes. I find that about half the time I'm just fine and half the time I'm not. In any case, I shall not give up on purples. I love them too, too much! Today I've let my eyes rest and recover and I will be back and up to no good with the purples again tomorrow, no doubt. :)
How fab does the Vincent Longo Water Canvas foundation look in the photos here? I'm impressed. It was getting a little oogly on me around the nine or ten hour mark (some shininess and mild breakdown), but really, that's not shabby at all. Also, that might have been the primer's fault. I still haven't decided how well the Armani does for me in terms of longevity, while I know I do love its silky feel initially. Also, I am so pleased with how the Water Canvas literally feels cool, moist, and refreshing as it's being applied.
Let me know your thoughts about any of this! And thanks for stopping by!

Many Faces
I really would like to stop being a slacker about my posts. Really. But for now you'll have to cope with a random catch up featuring several different faces. This first one features Tom Ford Diabolique lipstick. It's the most intensely pigmented and matte of my Tom Ford reds.
On my eyes is Laura Mercier's Caviar Stick in Rosegold, some smudged black Sephora liner, and Stila's glitter liner in Golden Silver (LE Japanese, if I'm not mistaken). I used Sephora Prisma Chrome eyeshadow in Moonbeam (pink version) as a highlight.
This next one features Tom Ford Slander lipstick. My face is looking extra pink in the DiorSkin Nude BB Cream 001 (in real life it looked pretty natural).
The amazing eyeshadow you see is Addiction Thriller and the also stunning eyeliner is Stila Smudge Stick in Bluefin! I love this so so much.
Lastly, I'm wearing a dramatic emerald smoky eye. This was really fun for me to do. I almost always have the most fun when I do super dramatic eye looks.
I used Stila's Smudge Crayon in black as a base, which really helps the green (Envy) to pop and gives it awesome depth. Makeup Geek's Shimmermint eyeshadow is in my inner crease and on the inner half of my lower lash line. Makeup Geek Envy is on the lid and lower lashes. I used Rouge Bunny Rouge Whispering Ibis to blend out and above the crease. Tarte's skinny pencil in Emerald fit perfectly onto my water line.
I kept the lips simple, using one of my favorite lip gloss formulas - Urban Decay Lip Junkie. Midnight Cowboy has a really beautiful champagne shimmer that my pictures do not capture. Also, it feels so comfortable and hydrating on my lips!
I started using a lip brush to apply my Tom Ford red lippies and I have to say, WOW, what a difference!! It takes me longer to apply (or so it seems), but the end result is far superb to free-handing it with the bullet. I get a really crisp line. The reds have all worn spectacularly on me, so I don't know if applying with a brush extends the wear, as I've heard it does. I would not doubt it. I think I'm officially in love with the Tom Ford lipstick formula. And applying with a brush! Who knew?!
Oh, and for you blush fanatics out there, my blushes, in order of appearance, were: Givenchy Bucolic Poppy, Becca Dragonfruit Beach Tint, and Illamasqua Naked Rose.
Thanks for stopping by! Do let me know if you have questions or thoughts about anything. :)

Bejewelled Skylark
This was the look I wore last Wednesday. I really liked it!
Forgive me for taking too many pictures. It's a problem I have due to an irrational fear that none of them will turn out remotely good.
I used Rouge Bunny Rouge Bejewelled Skylark on the lid and into the crease. It's so lovely! I'm not sure, but it may have caused my one eye corner to get irritated. I'm only guessing really, but maybe due to red pigment in it? So worth the trouble and pain, though! I will try wearing it again at some point and hope for a better result.
For the lower lash line I smudged Makeup Geek Goddess into pencil eyeliner. I'm not even sure I remember which pencil I used. It was black or brown, I'm sure about that.

This was my first time wearing a beige sort of blush! I actually really like how it worked here. I don't imagine I'll want to wear it with every look, but I can see now that it serves a purpose. Hooray for trying something new and being pleasantly surprised by it!
I had some creasing and fading through the day with Bejewelled Skylark, on my occasionally creasy left eye, but I don't know if that was related to the irritation I had with that outer corner as well (maybe watering somehow affected the wear). Also, perhaps my beloved Lorac eye primer is past its peak? I've been using it for what seems like an eternity! That stuff never runs out. In any case, I will be trying Bejewelled Skylark again, for sure, and will hope for a better result. If nothing else, I can always layer it over a similarly colored base or just switch to my unopened Nars eye primer. :)
Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for stopping by!
